Energy Leadership Index Assessment (ELI)

This is an online assessment with 70 questions, resulting in a detailed report and a 60-90 minute debrief. Estimated time on the assessment = 20 minutes.

There are two main types of assessments: Personality and Attitudinal.

Personality-based assessments, such as Myers Briggs and D.I.S.C. are valuable tools that pinpoint certain personality types so that people can have more of an understanding about what their strengths and weaknesses are. By understanding your personality and how it relates to what you do, you can adapt your behavior to “work with what you have,” and act effectively.

The E.L.I. is an attitudinal assessment, which is based on an energy/action model. This assessment differs from personality assessments as it is not intended to label a person and have them work well within that label. Instead, it measures your level of energy based on your attitude, or perception and your perspective on the world. Because attitude is subjective, it can be altered. By working with a coach using the E.L.I., you can alter your attitude and perspective, make a shift in your consciousness, and increase your energy and leadership effectiveness.

There are no limits to the growth that you can achieve. Once you realize that your level of consciousness is directly related to your actions, you can move from functioning effectively, to functioning optimally.

As part of the Energy Leadership Index assessment and debrief process, you’ll learn about the 7 levels of leadership and how much energy you now have in each level. You’ll be debriefed on the findings of the assessment and coached on how to navigate yourself to higher performance.

In May 2018, Forbes ranked the Energy Leadership Index Assessment, third among best “Assessments Every Executive Should Take”, to help you understand your strengths and weaknesses.

“The Energy Leadership Index Assessment provides a unique lens on self-awareness and emotional intelligence, two key ingredients for any leader. Situational awareness of yourself and others is critical for a leader to respond appropriately to the people in their charge. Understanding where you are at any moment and how you respond to stress can make all the difference ”  — Forbes Coaches Counsel

What is the ELI?

We each have our own unique filter in the world, based on our individual experiences, values, and assumptions. This filter is what impacts how we perceive experiences and interactions. Our perception of events is what impacts our reactions and our behavior. This attitudinal assessment quantifies both your perceptions of your world and your approaches in life into a score, which we will interpret together.

It is important to note that this score is simply a snapshot of this particular time in your life. Remember, with coaching, you can choose to adjust your attitude! By focusing on this snapshot of where you are today, together we can analyze how your filters are affecting your life and how your own thinking may be creating stress for you. Together, we can discover what might be holding you back from success and happiness and determine areas for potential improvement.

Research shows that higher scores in the ELI assessment are associated with increased happiness and success in life. Let’s get to work on this together! As an ELI Master Practitioner Coach, I will help you:

  • Discover your stress triggers.
  • Learn to respond to situations rather than react to them.
  • Remove those things that you identify as causing negative energy in your life.
  • Take yourself to the next level in your personal journey to higher consciousness, and hence true happiness.

What does it measure?

The ELI measures your energetic profile – that filter through which you view the world. It shows your energetic reaction to stress which is important because recognizing your reaction to stress is the first step to decreasing how much stress you experience.

Your energetic profile and energetic stress reaction are indicators of:

  • Your leadership ability – your ability to inspire yourself and others to get more done.
  • Your current level of engagement in life – are you emotionally and intellectually involved, or simply going through the motions?
  • Your current level of consciousness – your awareness of who you truly are and what life is about.
  • Your leadership ability – your ability to inspire yourself and others to get more done.
  • Your current level of engagement in life – are you emotionally and intellectually involved, or simply going through the motions?
  • Your current level of consciousness – your awareness of who you truly are and what life is about.

Why is this important?

Many people are on “autopilot” in life and are not achieving true passion and fulfillment. By becoming more conscious of why you do what you do, you can decrease stress, and increase productivity and pleasure.
